2023 Hyundai Creta facelift pre-bookings open in Malaysia, India launch likely by end of this year

Launched amid the pandemic in the year 2020, the second-generation Creta ranked as the best-selling car in May 2020. The SUV has managed to stay at the North Pole in terms of sales almost every month. However, it’s gearing up for a mid-cycle refresh, which is being awaited with high anticipation. Questions are being asked from the social media handles of brands and journalists regarding its launch date. Sadly, there is no clear announcement from the brand yet. However, bookings for the 2023 Hyundai Creta facelift have now started in Malaysia as the launch date draws closer.

In the Indian market, the sales of the Hyundai Creta facelift could start only by the end of this year. Hyundai could possibly introduce it around the festive season to fill its bags with cash and big numbers, but the company has remained tight-lipped about it till date.

Also, in terms of styling, the new-gen Creta will be heavily inspired by the Tucson. It will sport a massive radiator grille based on the parametric Jewel design language. Changes at the rear will include a revised tailgate along with a new design for the taillamps. This time the tail lamps will not be connected to each other. Also, a set of new alloy wheels are expected for the side profile.


Hyundai Creta Facelift: ADAS

The facelifted model has been launched in select international markets with advanced driver assistance systems. There is every possibility that it can be seen in the India-spec model. The Tucson comes equipped with features like adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, driver attention warning, lane-keeping assist, safe exit warning, rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot collision warning and more. Many of these features will filter into the smaller Creta in its facelifted form, making it safer than its rivals.

Hyundai Creta Facelift: Engine and Gearbox

Powertrain options on the upcoming Hyundai Creta facelift will include – 1.5L NA petrol, 1.5L turbo-petrol, and 1.5L diesel. All these engine options will be available with automatic transmission. The availability of a manual gearbox remains a question as of now, with the iMT taking a prominent place in Hyundai and Kia’s line-ups as a replacement for stick shifters.
