3 arrested in marriage scheme scam Kanpur News – Times of India

Kanpur: In connection with the marriage scheme scam, three people, including an employee of the Social Welfare Department, were arrested by the Bara police on Monday.
Police said that a clerk of the Social Welfare Department and a fake applicant in charge of the marriage grant and a middleman have been arrested. All three have been sent to jail after being produced before the magistrate on Monday after registering a case under relevant sections of the IPC.
Inspector Harmeet Singh of Bara police station said that Pradeep Kumar Saini, a resident of Shiv Govind, Vikas Nagar, Lucknow and in-charge of the Marriage Grant Board of Social Welfare Department, has made a fake application in the case of fraud. At the same time, the broker Shekhar Sachan, who made the setting between the fake applicant and the panel in-charge, has been arrested.
