New Delhi: Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur and Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha on Saturday launched the mascot, theme song and jersey of the third edition of Khelo India Winter Games.
Minister Thakur said during the launch event that Khelo India Winter Games is a part of Khelo India campaign, a vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to encourage youth towards sports and make India an emerging soft sports at the global level. To create power.
Thakur said, more than 1500 players from 29 states and union territories will participate in the Khelo India Winter Games. This event will not only encourage the youth of Jammu and Kashmir towards sports but will also promote tourism in the Union Territory.
LG Sinha said that under PMDP, sports infrastructure has been refined in every nook and corner of J&K, which is encouraging the youth towards sports.
The Winter Games will be held in Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir from January 10 to 14.
The Khelo India Winter Games is supported by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council as well as the Winter Games Association, Jammu and Kashmir.
The first Khelo India Winter Games took place in 2020 and Jammu and Kashmir has topped both the editions of the Games so far.
