4.3 magnitude earthquake in Afghanistan, no casualties

An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale was felt up to 116 kilometers away in Afghanistan.

Kabul:

The National Center for Seismology (NCS) informed in a tweet that an earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale occurred 116 km southeast of Faizabad in Afghanistan on Tuesday.

The earthquake occurred at 3:32 am IST on Tuesday and occurred at a depth of 120 km. NCS tweeted, “Earthquake Magnitude: 4.3, occurred on 09-05-2023, 03:32:23 IST, Latitude: 36.47 & Longitude: 71.59, Depth: 120 km, Location: 116km South East Faizabad, Afghanistan.”

No casualty has been reported so far. Further details are awaited.

Earlier on May 3, an earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale hit Afghanistan on Wednesday, the National Center for Seismology (NCS) said in a tweet.

The NCS said the earthquake occurred at 3:21 pm on May 3 and occurred at a depth of 169 km in Afghanistan.

NCS tweeted, “Earthquake intensity: 5.2, 03-05-2023, 15:21:18 IST, Latitude: 36.40 & Longitude: 70.69, Depth: 169 km, Location: Afghanistan.”
