4 injured in rush to buy tickets for India vs Australia T20 match

A stampede-like situation occurred when a large crowd tried to enter in a bar.

Four people were injured today in a stampede-like situation at the city’s Gymkhana ground where thousands of cricket lovers gathered to buy tickets for the India-Australia T20 match to be held in Hyderabad on September 25.

Police said the injured people, including two women, were admitted to the hospital and are doing well.

He said a stampede-like situation occurred when a large crowd tried to enter at once when it was raining.

Police said they had a tough time handling the situation.

Around 15,000 people gathered on the ground and some of them said that they reached there early today.

Some of them alleged that tickets were sold in black.

Telangana Sports Minister V Srinivasa Goud on Wednesday said strict action would be taken against those selling tickets in black colour.

Media reports said that the rush for tickets is because Hyderabad is hosting an international match after more than two years.
