Hyderabad:
Four minors in the Jubilee Hills gangrape case in May may be tried as adults considering the serious nature of their offence, a Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) said on Friday.
The fifth accused, who is also a minor, will continue to be treated as the offense charged against him was not heinous.
The police has already filed a charge sheet in this case.
Six people – an 18-year-old and five CCL (child in conflict with law) were arrested in the juvenile gang rape case. Five of them were involved in the sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl on May 28. All six are currently out on bail.
The teenager, who had gone to a pub for a day’s party, was allegedly sexually assaulted in a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) after an 18-year-old and five CCLs offered to drop her home in the vehicle.
