Four terrorists were killed in three anti-militancy operations by security forces in the Kashmir Valley in the last 24 hours.

Police said one terrorist was killed in the ongoing operation in Badimarg-Alaura area of Shopian in south Kashmir. The officials have identified the terrorist as Nadeem Ahmed Rather alias Kamran of Ashmuji, Kulgam. “Rather Hizbul was affiliated with Mujahideen. He was involved in the killing of Kulpora ‘panch’ and recruiting youths into militancy,” said IGP Kumar.

In a worrying trend, three IEDs were recovered near the International Border (IB) in Jammu Akhnoor sector.
A Border Security Force (BSF) spokesperson said that alert troops fired two rounds in Akhnoor area on Monday night at around 10:45 pm after hearing a humming sound from an object about 800 meters in the air. Drone activity was again observed in the Dayaran area of Kanachak at around 11 pm.
