43 degree Celsius heats up in Lucknow, no relief from heat

The maximum temperature in Lucknow reached 43 degrees Celsius on Monday, making it the hottest day of the season so far. The Meteorological Department has predicted no relief from the heat in the coming days.

Dry and hot winds continued to blow across Lucknow with severe heatwave, raising the mercury.

The city recorded the hottest day ever on Monday with the maximum temperature reaching 43 degrees Celsius. It was five degrees above normal temperature, which was the second highest temperature in eight years in the month of April.

According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there will be no respite from the heat in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Varanasi recorded a maximum temperature of 45.2 degrees Celsius and Prayagraj and Kanpur recorded 44.7 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Warm winds lashed Bundelkhand, making it the hottest city in Uttar Pradesh. The maximum temperature in Jhansi, Orai and Hamirpur was around 44 to 45 degree Celsius.
