5 killed as car falls from flyover in Rajasthan: Police

Five people were killed and one was injured when a car collided with a divider and fell into a drain on a flyover in Rajasthan’s Sikar district on Saturday.

Two of the dead have been identified as Hariram (30) and Prabhati Lal (20), while efforts are on to identify the others.

Sikar senior police officer K Rashtradeep said the car was moving at high speed when it collided with the divider on the flyover and fell down a hole in the divider.

He said the car rammed into a dry drain about 15 feet below the flyover.

Another police officer said that the car was coming from Sikar and was on its way to Jaipur. The accident happened near Thikaria village.

Dipti Rani, sub-inspector of Ringas police station said that the injured were taken to SMS Hospital in Jaipur.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has condoled the loss of lives in the accident.

He tweeted and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
