The coolest cars in Hollywood action movies have the best high speed chase scenes that we couldn’t even dream of buying. And sadly, these beautiful, super-expensive cars are often completely destroyed during the process of filmmaking. This is not a problem for the manufacturers, as the loss of the car is included in their lavish budget. But when carmakers design and build a new car, they expect it to last a long time and provide value to customers. They don’t build top-end vehicles so they can be completely piecemeal on screen. Here are some of the most expensive cars that were destroyed during the making of the film:
One of the most influential and famous cars Porsche has ever produced is the 917. The vehicle is famous for winning overall at the 1970 Le Mans. The car is expensive mainly for two reasons – first, its super-advanced technology, and second, its racing pedigree. Even the car’s excellent performance and immense fan following could not stop it from destroying Steve McQueen’s “Le Mans” in 1971. The sad part is that neither the car nor the film did at the box office.

These charming Corvettes have been featured in several Hollywood movies over the years, but one appearance that broke every car enthusiast’s heart was Con Air. The vehicle collided with a tower and broke into pieces. Not a pleasant picture, is it?
The Lycan Hypersport made massive waves when it was first announced. Its first film feature was in Fast & Furious 7. Dominic Toretto jumped the car off a building (yes, you read that right), only to crash to the ground. The film franchise has seen hundreds of cars surpass it, but the destruction of Hypersport was heartbreaking for gearheads.
