The number of people recovering from the disease has increased to 3,40,18,299, while the death rate has been recorded at 1.36 percent.

India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed 20 lakh on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16.

It crossed 60 lakhs on 28th September, 70 lakhs on 11th October, 80 lakhs on 29th October, 90 lakhs on 20th November and one crore on 19th December.

The 190 new people include 117 from Kerala and 21 from Maharashtra.

The health ministry insisted that over 70 per cent of the deaths were due to comorbidities.
