Chennai:
At least seven people were killed in a fire that broke out at a firecracker manufacturing unit in Tamil Nadu’s Kancheepuram district. 15 others have suffered burn injuries.
Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services DGP Abhash Kumar told NDTV, “The building has collapsed. Rescue operations are on to rescue those who are trapped.”
Investigation underway. This unit is located at Vazhathottam, about ten kilometers from Kanchipuram. Officials say the unit had a valid license.
