Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday that the government is trying to free thousands of acres of land in urban areas of the country from the garbage dump that was being dumped there for decades, and in the next few years these places will be cleared. PM Modi was speaking after inaugurating the 150 crore 550 tonne Gobar-Dhan Bio-CNG plant in Indore city of Madhya Pradesh, which is based on the concept of waste-to-wealth innovation.

“Lakhs of tonnes of garbage lying on thousands of acres of land in cities across the country for decades is a major cause of the spread of diseases as it causes air and water pollution,” PM Modi said.

Therefore, in the second phase of the Swachh Bharat Mission, the government is trying to make such lands free from garbage dumps.

He said, “The aim is that in the coming two-three years, our cities should get rid of these garbage dumps and such places can be converted into green zones. All possible help should be provided to the state governments to achieve this goal. is being done.”

PM Modi said that material retrieval facilities are being developed in over 1,600 municipal bodies to get rid of single-use plastics.

“Our efforts are on to develop such a system in every city of the country to promote circular economy,” he said.

The Prime Minister said that cleanliness promotes tourism as every city in the country has historical and religious places.

“If the city is clean, people from other places will like to come. Cleanliness boosts tourism and it gives birth to a new economy,” he said, adding that people visit Indore only for the purpose of cleanliness. Come to see the arrangements.

He said that in the coming two years, work is being done to set up such Gobar-Dhan Bio-CNG plants in 75 big municipal bodies of the country.

“This campaign will go a long way in making India’s cities clean and pollution-free and take them towards clean energy,” he said.

The PM said that Gobar-Dhan Biogas Plants are being set up in large numbers not only in cities but also in rural areas and stock breeders are getting additional income from cow dung.

“All these efforts will help India achieve its climate commitments,” he said.

He said that sewerage water treatment facilities are being increased in the municipal bodies having population of less than one lakh.

“India does not have oil wells and is dependent on other countries for petroleum products. 7 to 8 years ago in India, the mixture of ethanol in petrol used to be only 1 percent to 2 percent, which now reaches to about 8 percent. Has been,” she said.

Before 2014, the supply of ethanol for blending was around 40 crore liters, which has now increased to 300 crore liters. Modi said that this has helped sugarcane mills and farmers.

He alleged that the governments before 2014 were indifferent towards solar power generation.

He said, “But our government has started a drive to increase solar power generation after 2014. As a result India has been ranked among the top five countries in the world as far as solar power generation is concerned, ” They said.

The PM said that farmers are now becoming solar energy providers.

He praised the residents of Indore saying that they segregate the waste into six sections to facilitate its processing and recycling.

“Such efforts will help make the Swachh Bharat Mission a success,” he said. He said this shows that the word ‘life’ actually stands for ‘lifestyle for the environment’.

An official claimed that the 550 tonne per day bio-CNG plant located at the Devguradiya Trenching Ground in Indore is the largest of its kind in the whole of Asia.
