Mumbai: Western Railway Announced on Sunday that to meet the passenger rush and demand for high-speed trains during the festive season, Tejas Express Ahmedabad will have an additional AC chair car providing 78 additional passenger seats from 22nd December.
The train will also run five days a week from this week instead of four, with additional runs on Wednesdays.
the train leaves Mumbai Central It reaches Ahmedabad at 3.45 hrs and on the same day at 10.05 hrs.
“The train will additionally operate every Wednesday from December 22, which will cater to business/office customers in the middle of the week,” an IRCTC official said.
He said that the train has received a favorable response from the passengers since the services resumed from August 7, 2021.
“We have on-board Covid-19 sanitation Mumbai-Ahmedabad Tejas Express Which boasts of almost 100% punctuality linked to inbuilt insurance in case of delay of more than one hour. These facilities have instilled huge confidence among the travelers, which can be seen with full occupancy during the Diwali festival and in the post-festival period.”
The official said that with Christmas holidays and New Year festivities and being the preferred train on the busy Ahmedabad-Mumbai route, IRCTC has decided to run Tejas Express on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays as well as on Wednesdays.
On the way, this train will stop at Borivali, Vapi, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara and Nadiad stations in both the directions. The train consists of AC Chair Car and AC Executive Chair Car Coaches.
“It is a fully reserved train and its booking is available only on IRCTC website,” the official said.
In the return journey, train number 82902 Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central Tejas Express will leave Ahmedabad at 6.40 am on every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday and will reach Mumbai Central at 1.05 am on the same day.
