Chintamani accident: Six people died on the spot (Representational)
Chintamani (Karnataka):
In a tragic accident, eight people were killed when a jeep coming from the opposite direction collided with them near Marinayakanahalli under Kencharalhalli police limits in Chintamani taluk on Sunday.
According to the police, six people died on the spot, while two succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.
“Around 4 pm, a jeep with 17 passengers was going from Royalpad in Srinivaspur taluk towards Chintamani. The accident was so severe that the jeep was pulled for some distance after colliding head-on with the lorry,” police said.
“Six people in the jeep died on the spot, while two others succumbed to their injuries at Chintamani RN Jalappa Hospital,” it said.
