A total of 8,449 candidates have filed their nominations for the February 19 elections in Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Ranipet and Tirupattur districts, with the process of filing nominations for the upcoming local body elections ending on Friday.
Altogether 342 polling stations have been identified as vulnerable in these districts. Special teams have been deployed to oversee the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
A total of 3,200 election officers along with 30 flying squads will be on election duty to implement the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in Vellore, District Election Officer (Vellore) P Kumaravel Pandian said at a press meet on Friday. ,
