An increase of 201 cases has been registered in the number of active COVID-19 cases in the 24-hour period. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.66 per cent. It is less than 2 per cent for the last 67 days.

The weekly positivity rate was recorded at 0.72 per cent. According to the Ministry of Health, it has been below 1 percent for the last 26 days.

The number of people recovering from the disease increased to 3,41,05,066, while the death rate was recorded at 1.37 per cent.

The cumulative doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination campaign have exceeded 131.18 crore.

India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed 20 lakh mark on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23; 40 lakhs on 5th September and 50 lakhs on 16th September. It crossed 60 lakhs on 28 September; 70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29; 90 lakh on 20 November and crossed the crore mark on 19 December.

India crossed the grim milestone of two crore COVID-19 cases on May 4 and three crore on June 23.
