New Delhi:
A nine-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a boy in East Delhi. The police gave this information on Sunday.
He said the juvenile accused has been taken into custody in connection with the alleged incident that took place on Saturday.
A complaint of assault has been registered late on Saturday night.
Police said the girl was playing in the street on Saturday when the accused took her to an empty house near a park near his residence and allegedly sexually assaulted her.
A senior police officer said that the victim returned home and narrated the incident to her parents, who took her to the hospital.
Police said he was medically examined and doctors confirmed assault. The child care counselor also counseled her.
A case was registered under Indian Penal Code section 376 (rape) and relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act and the juvenile accused was arrested, the senior official said.
