The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), the gateway to medical courses, which was held here on Sunday, saw an attendance of around 96%.
Around 7,400 candidates have appeared for the exam out of 7,700 who applied for NEET. The exam was conducted between 2 pm to 5.20 pm at around 12 designated centres. In view of the drizzle, a large number of candidates reached their centers early.
NEET city coordinator Ishwari Prabhakar, who is also the principal of Visakha Valley School, said the exam was conducted peacefully with no untoward incident.
Ms. Ishwari, who inspected all the centers, said that the pre-examination arrangements, seating plan and testing were done following the guidelines at the centres. He said that an orientation meeting was also organized for the center superintendents, supervisors and deputy supervisors on Saturday.
