A day after Ajay Maken’s defeat in Rajya Sabha elections, Congress will take action against Kuldeep Bishnoi for cross-voting

Congress sources say that Ajay Maken is likely to challenge the result in the high court, while anti-defection action will be taken against Bishnoi if he does not resign.

Taking cognizance of Kuldeep Bishnoi’s cross-voting during the Rajya Sabha elections in Haryana, the Congress has decided to initiate action against the Adampur MLA.

Haryana Congress in-charge Vivek Bansal said, ‘Action will be taken against Kuldeep Bishnoi. The party high command has taken cognizance of their cross voting.

Congress sources say Ajay Maken is likely to challenge the result in the high court, while anti-defection action will be taken against Bishnoi if he does not resign.

Bishnoi has reportedly voted for JJP-backed and BJP-backed Kartikeya Sharma. Ajay Maken of Congress lost by one vote.

Bishnoi has been expressing his displeasure against the party ever since Uday Bhan, a confidant of former CM Bhupendra Hooda, became the Haryana Congress President. He had said that he would wait for the Congress party to decide his role. Bishnoi was also destined to meet Rahul Gandhi In New Delhi in the coming days.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has already said that Bishnoi can join the BJP whenever he wants. Bishnoi, on his part, is yet to reveal his political future, though he had met Khattar in recent days on the pretext of pending work to be done in his constituency. This comes after Bhan’s appointment as HPCC chief.
