A Hollywood Favourite, Mandarin Oriental Luxury Hotel in New York to Be Purchased by Reliance for $98 Million

Reliance on Saturday announced that it has entered into an agreement with New York-based premium luxury hotel Mandarin Oriental. The $98.15 million deal to acquire 73.37% of the hotel will add a feather to the group. The decision, through its wholly owned arm Reliance Industrial Investments & Holdings, places the company among the top players in the luxury space of the Big Apple.

The hotel is a landmark of the famous city, and naturally, it has everything that New York embodies in this modern world i.e. charm, opulence, ethereal royalty and elegance. Here are some of the features that make the hotel stand out:

• This is a 248 room and suite property in Columbus Circle that is located above the iconic Central Park.
• Hotel favorites among Hollywood stars often include Helen Mirren, Morgan Freeman, Isabel Huppert and Liam Neeson.
• This ballroom is a popular venue for gala and fundraising events in the city.
• Established in 2003, the hotel has gained global recognition and has won several impressive awards.
• It has rooms that offer idyllic views of the city’s iconic landmarks – the Hudson River, Central Park, the New York skyline, and more.
• The hotel operates one of only two Forbes five-star spas in Manhattan.

A statement released by the group said: “This acquisition will add to the group’s consumer and hospitality footprint. The group already has investments in EIH Ltd (The Oberoi Hotels), Stoke Park Ltd in the UK and the state-of-the-art convention at BKC Mumbai The center is developing hotels and managed accommodation. The transaction is expected to close by the end of March 2022.”
