After the resounding victory, the BCCI tweeted a video of a special message from the Indian men’s senior cricket team.

Dravid then passed the mic to Prithvi Shaw, who had led the India U-19 team to lift the World Cup in 2018 in New Zealand. It was only fitting that he lauded the U-19 women’s team.

Shaw said, ‘I think, this is a big achievement. Everyone wants to congratulate the Under-19 women’s team. So congratulations!” The short video ends with the entire senior team cheering for the victorious India U-19 team.

Several Twitter users have praised the BCCI for the heartwarming gesture.

A fan tweeted, “Yeah it’s really nutritious. Thank you BCCI bhai for this lovely video.”

India’s victory in the inaugural ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup is indeed a landmark event in the development of women’s cricket in the country.

The Indian U-19 team, led by Shafali Verma, has done what their seniors have failed to do over the years – crossing the final hurdle of an ICC tournament.

A determined Indian team put up an all-round performance to emerge as the maiden winners of the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup. In the high-stakes final, skipper Shafali Verma won the toss and decided to field first at the Senwes Park.

The Indian bowling unit supported their captain’s decision as they bundled out England for just 68 runs in 18 overs.

Tita Sadhu rattled the England batting line-up, taking six wickets. Chasing a low target, India lost Shefali Verma and Shweta Sehrawat early in the innings. However, a steady third wicket partnership of 46 runs between Soumya Tiwary and Gongadi Trisha sealed India’s sensational victory.
