Will Smith was running the front for Best Actor – the Oscar of his life – until he started getting a terrible, terrible, not good, very bad Oscar and then went back to getting the best Oscar. What could easily have been a film plot in a story was 94. had both a hero and a villainth The Academy Awards which were held in Los Angeles. short version – Will slap Chris Rock on wife Jada’s joke And then won the Oscar. The longer version below – here’s how the slapgate, or “worldwide-seen slap” as it’s known on social media, went down.
The first thing to know is that Jada Pinkett suffers from alopecia, a condition that causes hair loss and which causes her to shave her hair almost towards the head. Jada revealed in 2018 that She has alopecia and has described it as “terrible” to deal with,

Perhaps presenter Chris Rock didn’t realize that Jada’s bald head was not to her liking; Maybe he knew and decided to joke about it anyway. “More, can’t wait gi gen 2“He quipped – GI Jane is a reference to a 90s movie in which Demi Moore stars as a female Navy SEAL and in which she cuts her hair as closely as it does a SEAL.

Jada’s first reaction was an eye roll and Will laughed, even. The camera, which was on Smith, cut back to Chris; Moments later, it took over Chris will reach out to the rock and embellish it – Right there on the live broadcast being watched around the world. Returning to his seat, Will shouted, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f*****g mouth.”

A moment could be nothing but completely over the top staged – could it? Turns out, it could. Chris Rock kept calm and went on to say, “Will Smith slapped me.” In a star-studded audience, the reactions made it clear that this was not a scripted skit.

Minutes later, Will Smith won the Best Actor Oscar for his performance in King Richard As he was expected to do. It seemed that by then, better understanding had prevailed, in part helped by fellow Best Actor nominee Denzel Washington, who offered Will some friendly advice during the commercial break. “I want to apologize to the Academy. I want to apologize to all my fellow candidatesWill said in his speech – explicitly dropping the name of Chris Rock.
“I look like the crazy father they said about Richard Williams. But love will drive you crazy,” said a tearful Will, before revealing what Denzel told him: “Thanks Denzel, who took a few minutes First told me… He said, ‘At your highest moment, be careful, that is when the devil will come for you.'”

Slapgate is taking over characters and mind space on social media. Slapper Will Smith and slapstick Chris Rock have both been blamed. Here are two reaction tweets from Hollywood, each one condemning the party:
Will Smith has apologized to Chris Rock. There is no excuse for what he did. She’s lucky that Chris isn’t filing assault charges. The excuse he made tonight was bullshit.

Violence is not okay. Attack is never the answer. as well? This is the second time Chris has made fun of Jada #Oscar stage, and tonight he went after his alopecia. It is wrong to target someone’s auto-immune disease. To do so intentionally is cruel. Both need a breath.

Smith has certainly moved up the ranks. “And that’s how we do it,” tweeted Will and Jada’s son Jaden Smith, who was at the Oscars.
and that’s how we do it

In a brief tweeted statement, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said it “does not condone violence of any form.” Meanwhile, Chris Rock declined to file a police complaint, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

If Slapgate hadn’t actually happened, Will Smith’s Oscar enormity wouldn’t have been completely eclipsed—he’s only the fifth African-American to win an Academy Award for Best Actor, behind Sidney Poitier, Denzel Washington, Jamie Foxx, and Forrest Whitaker.
