AAP MLA’s personal assistant arrested for taking bribe in Punjab’s Bathinda

Further investigation of the matter is underway.

Bathinda:

Rashim Garg, personal assistant of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amit Ratan from Bathinda Circuit House in Punjab, was arrested by the vigilance team on Thursday on charges of taking a bribe of Rs 4 lakh from a sarpanch.

According to officials, the sarpanch’s husband accused the MLA’s PA of demanding a bribe of five lakh rupees in the name of Amit Ratan, after which the complainant along with the vigilance team reached the circuit house.

The PA was arrested red-handed in a vehicle at the circuit house.

“During the conversation between the two, vigilance officials reached the spot and arrested them red-handed with Rs 4 lakh,” officials said.

Further investigation of the matter is underway.
