AAP MP Sanjay Singh, the party’s Uttar Pradesh in-charge, launched the party’s slogan – “House tax halved, water tax maaf” – to woo voters during his visit to Lucknow.

The Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday launched its poll plank for the urban local body polls in Uttar Pradesh, promising halving of house tax and waiving off water tax if it wins the civic bodies.

AAP MP Sanjay Singh, the party’s Uttar Pradesh in-charge, launched the party’s slogan – “House tax halved, water tax waived” – to woo voters during his visit to Lucknow.

He also announced in-charges for 633 urban local body seats in Uttar Pradesh and said the party would contest from every constituency.

During his visit, Singh called the ED (Enforcement Directorate) a “department of entertainment” and alleged that central agencies were being misused to target the opposition.

Singh said the Uttar Pradesh cabinet has accepted the report of the commission set up to look into the issue of reservation for Other Backward Castes (OBCs) in urban local body elections and hoped that the government would soon announce the dates for the polls. Will do

The party will reach out to the public and ask them to give AAP a chance to clean up their cities.

The people of Delhi gave AAP a chance and the party gave them a clean city, mohalla clinics and excellent education system. Singh said that the Punjab government is also working on the Delhi model.

“There will be no water tax and house tax will be reduced to half in every local body where you win the post of president,” Singh said.

AAP contested the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections in 2022, but failed to make any headway.

Alleging that central agencies were being misused to target opposition leaders, Singh said, “I want to ask PM (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi that he is targeting opposition leaders every day. In Bengal, the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) has registered 30 cases against the TMC; 26 cases have been filed against the Congress; 10 cases filed against the opposition in Bihar; BSP has five cases, Samajwadi Party has four cases, NCP has three cases; In Kashmir, there are three cases of National Conference. From Kashmir to Kanyakumari, the government is targeting every opposition party and its leaders.

“He (Modi) should order all opposition leaders to be killed in encounters and then he can sleep peacefully,” Singh said.

The senior AAP leader also alleged that industrialist Gautam Adani is involved in “a large number of scams” but no action has been taken.

Singh said Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Adani are from Gujarat and said, “What is the relation between Adani and Modiji, I want the RSS and BJP to answer.” Singh raised the issue of seizure of heroin in large quantities ‘supplied by Taliban’ from Mundra port, said, ‘It is a matter of national security concern and I will raise it in Parliament… A case for investigation of Adani’ A Joint Parliamentary Committee should be constituted. Singh said.

However, the AAP leader did not elaborate on his allegations.

He also alleged that the Center was jailing opposition leaders while feeding Osama bin Laden’s supporters.

Singh claimed that the government was trying to appease the Taliban by giving them wheat.
