‘Aaram to nahi karna hai’: In Jaipur meet, PM Modi lays out BJP roadmap, has a word of advice for the opposition

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his virtual address to the top BJP leadership gathered in Jaipur to strengthen the party ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, urged the cadre to bring in dynastic political parties to fight the politics of development.

Urging leaders to reach out to every beneficiary of government schemes despite the odds, the prime minister said the focus should be on issues of national interest despite some parties turning the narrative.

“Aaram toh nahi karna hai (we cannot rest). We can never repay the debt of our freedom fighters, but we can certainly serve our countrymen. The party has crores of workers and I am proud of all of you,” PM Modi said, adding that BJP workers have no right to sit idle.

“We have over 1,300 MLAs, 400 MPs and over 100 Rajya Sabha members. If we focused on enjoying power, we would be doing the same. But that path is not for us,” he said.

The Prime Minister said that there was a time when the people of the country had lost all hope from the governments to improve their lives. But after 2014, BJP changed that mindset.

“Think of a patient who was ill for a long time. If he does not recover for a long time, he accepts his illness and starts living with it. This happens with life. Sometimes, this happens in the life of the nation as well. There was a time when people stopped expecting from governments and vice versa. But, in 2014 people decided to change this scenario. Today, they are hopeful and full of aspirations,” the PM said.

Speaking on the eight years of his rule, PM Modi said that the years are dedicated to ‘Sankalp’, ‘Seva’ and ‘Garib Kalyan’, aspirations of small farmers and middle class.

“These eight years were of balanced development with respect to women, social justice and welfare. These eight years have been spent in regaining the trust of the people lost in the government. Even the poor do not think that the government scheme is for the people with good network.

The PM said that it is the responsibility of the government to work for every citizen of the country. “The rising aspirations of the people are visible. It gives us more confidence and this motivates us to serve more and take that nation to new heights,” he said.

reach the beneficiaries

The PM recalled how on August 15 he had asked to reach out to all the beneficiaries. “We know there are hurdles because there is dependence on state governments and others, but if we decide to reach out to them and don’t leave anyone untouched, we will achieve our goal,” the PM told the gathering.

He also announced that the BJP is launching a new awareness campaign.

‘Spread the politics of development’

“We need to work on spreading the politics of development everywhere. Irrespective of the political party, we need to put pressure on them to follow the politics of development – voluntarily or unwillingly. We have brought it into the mainstream of politics. Everyone now needs to talk of development in elections,” the PM said.

Cautioning the leaders of other political parties, he said: “There are political parties which poison the weaknesses in the society in the name of caste and community. We need to warn people. We should never take any shortcut and keep national welfare at the centre. The ecosystem of some parties is trying to divert us from issues of national interest. We should not get caught up in this. Whenever you speak on the work done by our government, like direct benefits to farmers and welfare of the poor, it does not come in the headlines,” the PM said.

He also criticized dynastic politics, which he said is “pulling the country down”, and said opportunities should be given to youth who are nationalists and patriotic.

language line

The PM also touched upon the language controversy that caused a stir in some states.

“The BJP sees a reflection of ‘Indianness’ in every Indian language,” he said. Language is being talked about in India for some time now. [Since some time, there has been a discussion in India on languages], We respect every language and I have faith in every citizen of this country: Modi
