Actor Dileep questioned for the third consecutive day in sexual harassment case

Actor Dileep appeared before the Crime Branch of the Kerala Police for the third consecutive day in 2017 for allegedly threatening the investigating officers probing the sexual assault of an actress.

Crime Branch officials interrogated Dileep and the other four accused for 22 hours in the last two days.

On Saturday, the Kerala High Court had restrained the police from arresting Dileep till January 27. The court had also directed the accused, including Dileep, to report before the investigating officer on January 23, January 24 and January 25 from 9 am to 8 pm. The court also made it clear that he would be available for questioning and such other investigations as may be necessary.

On January 9, the Crime Branch had registered a case against Dileep and five others for allegedly threatening the investigating officers.

They are charged with IPC sections 116 (abetment to offense punishable with imprisonment), 118 (concealment of design to commit offense punishable with death or imprisonment for life), 120B (party to criminal conspiracy), 506 (criminal intimidation), and A case was registered under 34. (a criminal act committed by several people).

Dileep is named as the first accused in the FIR. Anoop, who is Dilip’s brother, and Suraj, Dilip’s brother-in-law, are the second and third accused.

Appu, Babu Chengmanad are the other accused. Another accused is yet to be identified.

Dileep is also the eighth accused for the alleged conspiracy in the assault on the actress. The case pertains to the fact that an actress working in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu films was allegedly abducted and molested inside her car by a group of men who entered the vehicle on the night of February 17, 2017. was done.
