Add to SIP to make the investment worthwhile

I am a student and have been invested in HDFC Mid-cap opportunities, which has been one of the under direct growth since last year. 500 systematic investment plan monthly. I want to live with it for 10 to 12 years. I don’t have any goals. So, should I stick with it or change the type of investment? Currently, I have a return of around 40%. should i make changes?

You are doing well to start your investment journey at an early stage of your life. Your choice of fund is good with a solid track record of returns. The habit of doing SIP in such funds will come in handy for you. However, the amount you are investing – 500- is unlikely to have a meaningful impact on your financial situation.

You should continue to invest in this fund, but add another fund with additional investments when you get the chance—eg, another 500 – when you can. Parag Parikh Flexi-Cap Direct Fund would be a great option for this purpose.
