He said that on May 18 itself, Poonawalla bought three knives, a saw, a chopper and a garbage bag, while the next day he bought a double door refrigerator. Subsequently, Poonawalla interacted with several people on Walker’s social media accounts “to show that she was alive,” Prasad said, adding that after Poonawalla’s arrest, jawbones, bones and hair were recovered from the accused’s target. Prasad also said that the evidence showed that the couple was facing financial problems and had to think twice before spending money on their regular expenses. The court said that arguments on the charges were heard and a brief summary was filed by the prosecution.

Noting that the counsel for the legal aid had sought time to address the arguments, the court posted the matter for further proceedings on March 20.
