After 80 paise hike in Delhi, petrol crosses ₹ 100, diesel increased by 70 paise

Petrol price crossed ₹100 per liter mark on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 rates raised 80 paise per liter in case of diesel and 70 paise in case of diesel, taking the total increase in rates to ₹4.80 per liter in a week.

According to the price notification of the state fuel retailers, the price of petrol in Delhi will now be ₹ 100.21 per liter as against ₹ 99.41, while the rates of diesel have increased from ₹ 90.77 per liter to ₹ 91.47.

Rates have been increased across the country and vary from state to state based on local taxation events.

This is the seventh increase in prices since the end of a four-and-a-half-month-long hiatus in the rate revision on March 22. On the first four occasions, prices were increased by 80 paise per liter – the sharpest one-day increase so far. The daily price revision was introduced in June 2017. In subsequent days, the price of petrol increased by 50 paise and 30 paise per liter, while diesel increased by 55 paise and 35 paise per litre.

Overall, petrol and diesel prices have increased by Rs 4.80 per litre.
