After the ban on hijab in schools and colleges, now a controversy has erupted in a school in Karnataka over the Bible. A school in Bengaluru has made it mandatory for students to carry a Bible on campus. According to media reports, the school has taken an undertaking from the parents that students will not have any objection to taking Bible or hymn book to the school. The Bible is a collection of sacred texts in Christianity.

Part of the undertaking sent by the school to parents asks them to confirm that their children will attend morning meetings, scripture classes and clubs for their moral and spiritual well-being. It then says that they (the parents) will not object to the Bible and Psalms being taken to school.

The school directive has sparked a controversy in Karnataka, which recently made headlines for banning the wearing of hijab by Muslim girls in schools and colleges.
