After Delhi, schools will also remain closed in Haryana due to pollution

Schools will remain closed in some parts of Haryana till Wednesday, November 17 due to high levels of air pollution. According to a report in Hindustan Times, the Haryana government has decided to close schools in Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat and Jhajjar. This comes after the Delhi government announced closure of schools for a week starting Monday.

NS Haryana government led by Manohar Lal Khattar had opened physical classes In July for students of classes 6 to 12, on September 1 for classes 4 and 5 and from September 20 for students of classes 1 to 3. Schools will remain closed for three days due to high air pollution levels in Delhi NCR.

Meanwhile, the Delhi government has not only directed schools to remain closed and resort to online classes, but also asked government offices to remain closed and opt to work from home. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday announced that schools in the capital will remain closed from Monday.

Schools reopened in Delhi for classes 9 to 12 from September 1 and the rest from November 1. Schools were allowed to reopen with 50 per cent students per class.
