As Congress bleeds over the resignation of Ghulam Nabi Azad, lawyer-turned-politician Jaiveer Shergill on Friday said leaders of all ages are troubled by its ‘courtly’ culture.

Rejecting the upcoming Bharat Hodo Yatra by the Congress, Shergill said, “In fact, this party is working on the ‘Congress Todo campaign’ within the Congress, ousting all good leaders.”

Commenting on Azad’s resignation letter, in which he took a jibe at the Gandhi family and blamed Rahul Gandhi for their exit, Shergill said, “This letter speaks to the sentiments of the thousands of good Congress workers who are this ‘darbari’. Disturbed by the culture.”

Earlier on Wednesday, Congress leader Jaiveer Shergill resigns As the national spokesperson of the party. He alleged that the decision-making process in the Congress was based on serving the interests of a few individuals and not the country and its people.

In a letter to Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Jaiveer Shergill not only listed the reasons behind his move but also took a dig at the party leadership. He said the Congress was “continuously ignoring the ground reality” and “the vision of the party’s decision-makers is no longer in line with the aspirations of the youth”.
