After Kejriwal’s ‘Lakshmi-Ganesh On Currency’ Plea, BJP’s Nitish Rane Tweets Rs 200 Note With Shivaji’s Picture

After Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal appealed to the Center to print images of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha on the new notes, Maharashtra BJP leader Nitish Rane on Wednesday suggested that the notes be printed with the picture of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as well. Must go

Rane also tweeted a picture of the Rs 200 note along with Shivaji’s picture and wrote, “This is perfect! (It’s complete!)”

Earlier in the day, Kejriwal addressed a press conference and appealed to the Prime Minister. Narendra Modi Consider including pictures of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha in currency notes as they will earn the blessings of Hindu gods and strengthen the economy. Kejriwal further said that if Indonesia can do this then India can also do it.

It seems that Kejriwal’s appeal clearly has less to do with the economy and more to please Hindu voters, in an unblemished attempt to corner the ruling BJP on the core Hindutva issue of the latter. That’s why Kejriwal’s words have come under BJP’s chasm.

BJP’s Sambit Patra hit out at Kejriwal and said that “there is a song in a Hindi film – ‘Kya ho gaya dekhte dekhte'”. During the press conference, Patra also said, “Arvind Kejriwal, who refused to give jobs to Kashmiri Pandits in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, who has a crush on Kashmiri Pandits, today suddenly those who are trying to become Hindu, this is a U-turn. It’s perfect.”

The BJP has attempted to portray Kejriwal as a man who suffered from ‘pretend syndrome’ and was a ‘Chunvi Hindu’.

Aam Aadmi Party (MP) Sanjay Singh, while defending Kejriwal, attacked the BJP and said that the Center is going to print notes with Savarkar’s photo.

He tweeted, “These people are opposing Lord Ganesh Laxmi because we have come to know that Modi government is going to put up Savarkar’s photo.”
