New Delhi [India]March 17 (ANI): Oscar-winning actor Ram Charan arrived in Delhi on Friday morning to a rousing welcome at the airport by his fans.

After winning Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards in Los Angeles, crowds of fans held banners and posters with his name and photo welcoming him back to his country.

Ram Charan was all smiles and kept shaking hands with folded hands as he exited the airport and headed towards his car. His wife Upasana was also seen with him.

The actor made sure to greet his fans through the sunroof of his car.

Talking to reporters stationed outside the Indira Gandhi International Airport, Ram Charan said, ‘I am happy and elated. Thanks to all of you. We are proud of MM Keeravani, SS Rajamouli and Chandrabose. Because of their hard work, we walked the red carpet and brought the Oscars to India.”

Ram Charan described ‘Natu Natu’ as the song of the people of India.

“I thank all the fans and people from North to South and East to West parts of India for watching RRR and making the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ a super hit. Natu Natu was not our song, it was the song of the people of India. It gave us an opportunity for the Oscars,” he said.

If reports are to be believed, Ram Charan is going to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi.

Earlier during Friday morning, RRR director SS Rajamouli and Natu Natu composer MM Keeravani returned to Hyderabad after attending the Oscars ceremony.

‘Naatu Naatu’ was the first Telugu song to be nominated in the ‘Original Song’ category at the Oscars. It won the award beating out big names like Rihanna and Lady Gaga.
