West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on June 20 that the BJP is trying to create its own armed “cadre” base through new defense recruitment program,
“Agneepath is actually a plan to create a cadre for the BJP. He will be the one who will protect BJP’s office and help them in looting votes. BJP has given four years of lollipop to make youth goondas.
Trinamool Congress [TMC] The chairperson wondered whether after four years the youth who had taken arms training would be allowed to use weapons. “What will they do after that? So is the BJP making these youth goons?”
The Chief Minister said that the Center had promised two crore jobs every year. “Now before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, they are only fooling the people of the country in the name of these schemes.”
Trinamool Congress general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, who was in Tripura on June 20, also criticized it. Agneepath Scheme and demanded action against BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya, who had said ‘Agnivar’ could be appointed as security guard in BJP offices.
BJP MLAs led by Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari staged a walkout in protest against the Chief Minister’s remarks. Mr Adhikari said his remarks tantamount to insulting the army.

The West Bengal Assembly passed a resolution condemning the controversial remarks. It was introduced by the state Parliamentary Affairs Minister Partha Chatterjee during the Mention Hour. “I strongly condemn the remarks made by some leaders. They were part of a larger conspiracy to spread hatred among communities ahead of the Lok Sabha elections,” Ms Banerjee said. “why was the woman” [Nupur Sharma] Not arrested?”

On the issue of bulldozers, the Chief Minister said that people are the last bulldozers in a democracy. “Remember that every time you use a bulldozer on people’s homes, in 2024 you will be bulldozed,” he said.
