Ahmedabad: Rs 11,000, gold chain cheated from widow Ahmedabad News – Times of India

Ahmedabad: A 65 year old widow, Manorama PatelA resident of Khadia has filed a complaint with the police that an identified person duped her of Rs 11,000 and took her gold Chain to issue ayushman card in his name.
According to the complainant, the accused, who was in his mid-20s, approached her and told her that he would get her Ayushman card and start a widow pension scheme in her name.
The man asked her to accompany him to a bank and give Rs 11,000 so that he could open an account in his name and deposit the check in the account. The accused told her that he would also arrange a gold loan of Rs 35,000 for her.
The man then said that he had a jeweler’s shop and requested to give him a gold chain for safe custody. She believed him and handed him her 12 grams of gold chain. Later she realized that she had been duped and filed a complaint of cheating and breach of trust against an unknown person.
