A total of 1,213 flights were canceled across the country on Wednesday, according to flight-tracking website Flightaware.com.
American Airlines Group Inc. According to an internal memo seen by Reuters, “unexpected and heavy” thunderstorms affected operations at its biggest hub at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, leading to the cancellation of several flights on Wednesday and Thursday.
Data from flightaware.com shows the airline canceled 368 flights on Wednesday and about 300 more as of Thursday morning.
“It was the worst storm we’ve seen dfw This Summer,” American Airlines Chief Operating Officer David Seymour Told.
In June, adverse weather conditions and labor shortage forced many We Carriers to cut thousands of flights.
