Akhilesh Yadav targets BJP on Pathan’s success

As Shah Rukh Khan’s fans celebrate the success of his latest film ‘Pathan’, politics over the film is taking hold, with Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday slamming the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Said that the roaring success of Pathan is a befitting reply to the negative politics of BJP.

The former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh tweeted in Hindi, “‘Pathan’ being a super hit is a victory for positive thinking in the country and the world and a befitting reply to the negative politics of the BJP.”

,Pathan’ The film came into limelight after some social groups objected to a song in the film, ‘Besharam Rang’, in which actress Deepika Padukone wore a saffron bikini. The song inspired some people on social media who claimed that it hurt the religious sentiments of a particular community and calls to boycott the film were trending.

Those against the film included some BJP leaders like Narottam Mishra and Ram Kadam who accused the makers of the film of deliberately hurting religious sentiments.

Later, PM Modi commented on the call for such boycott and asked BJP workers not to make unnecessary comments about films. The Prime Minister said that such issues are irrelevant and become a hindrance in the path of development.

Shahrukh Khan Also addressed the controversy and said “We are all playing a character to make you happy. If we say anything in the film, none of it is meant to hurt anybody’s sentiment or anybody. It’s just entertainment.”

Even after calls for boycott, Pathan breaks many records and is close to entering 600 crore club. The film became Shah Rukh Khan’s fastest grosser in India. 300 crore more superstar fans who were a bit disappointed with his last few films are claiming ‘Pathan’ as the comeback of ‘King Khan’.

Pathan is Aditya Chopra’s fourth film in the espionage world. The film follows Salman Khan’s “Ek Tha Tiger” (2012) and “Tiger Zinda Hai” (2017), and Hrithik Roshan’s “War” (2019).
