“Atrangi Re”, which marks Kumar’s first collaboration with Rai, is touted as a twisted and complicated love triangle. The actor said that he has always loved the rawness of Rai’s cinema and hence wanted to work with a director known for films like “Tanu Weds Manu”, “Raanjhanaa” and “Zero”.

Kumar said, “He makes films that are rooted in reality. His focus is never on the beauty of his characters, be it male or female. He tries to show the raw emotions of the characters and they How close to real people.”

He believes that if “Atrangi Re” is able to click with the audience, then the credit goes only to Khan and Dhanush.
