The actor announced the news with a short video in which he appeared alongside Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh, who made cameos in the film.

Akshay Kumar on Friday said that his much-awaited film ‘Sooryavanshi’ will finally release in theaters across the world on November 5.

Director Rohit Shetty announced last month via social media that “Sooryavanshi” will release during Diwali, soon after Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced the reopening of cinema halls in the state from October 22.

However, no release date was announced then. Taking to social media, Kumar posted a short video in which he is seen alongside Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh, who has a cameo appearance in “Sooryavanshi”.

In a video shot inside a cinema hall, the three actors urged the audience to watch the film in theaters during Diwali.

“Do you remember this place where you have seen so many emotions. No one thought that like our films, there would be an interval in our life. We are back,” Kumar said.

The film, which was originally scheduled to release on March 24, 2020, got delayed several times due to the coronavirus pandemic, which led to the closure of theaters across the country. This is Shetty’s fourth film in the cop world after Devgn’s blockbusters like “Singham”, “Singham Returns” and Singh starrer “Simmba”.

“Sooryavanshi” stars Katrina Kaif opposite Kumar.

The upcoming film is presented by Reliance Entertainment and produced by Rohit Shetty Pictures in association with Dharma Productions and Cape of Good Films.
