Kottayam: Two political murders have created a ruckus in a few hours Alappuzha District in Kerala. In the early hours of Sunday, BJP OBC Morcha state secretary Ranjit Srinivasan was murdered hours after SDPI state secretary KS Shan succumbed to a knife attack at a private hospital in Ernakulam.
Assembly election candidate Srinivasan was attacked by a gang on Sunday morning. While Shaan was attacked by another gang at around 7.30 pm on Saturday evening and was admitted to the hospital after being stabbed several times.
A group of men who came in a car knocked Shaan down from his motorcycle and attacked him. According to eyewitnesses, Shan was attacked by four men.

After the two murders, the district collector has imposed prohibitory orders under section 144 of CrPC in Alappuzha district for Sunday and Monday.
Kerala CM condemns alleged killings
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Sunday condemned the alleged killings of SDPI state secretary KS Shan and BJP OBC Morcha state secretary Ranjit Srinivasan.
“Such heinous and inhuman acts of violence are dangerous for the state. I am sure everyone will be ready to identify and isolate such killer groups and their hateful attitude,” Vijayan told a press conference.
He assured that the police would take strict action against the perpetrators.
