All about CUET: Exam format, eligibility, fee – Times of India

The Ministry of Education has launched the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for admission to all undergraduate programs in all central universities for the academic year 2022-23. CUET is being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), which was set up in 2017 to conduct entrance exams in higher education institutions. The organization was established to achieve “One India, One Examination” on any subject. It provides a level playing field and equal opportunities to candidates from all over the country, especially those from rural and other remote places, and helps in establishing greater linkages with universities. CUET (UG) – 2022 will be a Computer Based Test (CBT) consisting of Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The exam will be conducted in the first and second week of July 2022.


Where are the centers?

CUET will be conducted in 547 Indian cities and 13 international cities. Format of CUET

CUET (UG) – 2022 will be divided into four sections in which a candidate will be given a maximum time duration of 3 hours 15 minutes in a slot. Section IA will give an option to the candidates to choose from 13 languages. In addition to those available in Section IA, Section IB will have 20 languages ​​to choose from. Attempt is to be made to attempt 40 questions out of 50 in each language. Candidates will be assessed on their language skills through reading comprehension in MCQ based question form with 45 minutes duration for each language.

Section II will have 27 domain-specific subjects to choose from, with a limit of 6 domains per candidate applicable for the university or universities. In this section, 40 questions out of 50 are to be attempted and they will be tested in MCQ based question paper as per NCERT Class XII syllabus in which candidates will get 45 minutes for each domain.

A common test will be given in Section III. In this section, 60 questions out of 75 are to be attempted and they will be tested through General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mental Ability,

What is the fee for CUET?


General category applicants will have to pay an amount of ₹650 to register themselves for CUET 2022 exam, while Gen-EWS/OBC-NCL and SC/ST/PwD category candidates will have to pay an amount of ₹600 and 550 respectively. have to give. , CUET 2022 application fee can be paid online using credit/debit card, UPI, Paytm or net banking.

Candidates have to fill the CUET application form online on the official website of the exam. To apply for admission to undergraduate degree programs in central universities, students must have completed class 12 from a recognized board in science stream. To be eligible for CUET 2022, candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% in class 12 in the general category and a minimum of 45 percent in the SC/ST category. The minimum aggregate for candidates in B.Tech programs is 45 percent for general category candidates and 40 percent for reserved category candidates.
