Company executive Neil Lindsay told employees that Amazon Care, which offers business customers digital or at-home doctor visits to its personnel, had shortcomings despite the retailer’s efforts.

“This is not a completely adequate offering for the large enterprise customers we are targeting, and will not operate in the long term,” the company said in a message shared with Reuters.

Amazon Care’s clients include Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc. The retailer offered virtual care and house calls nationwide in markets such as Los Angeles, Washington and Dallas.

Announced last month, Amazon agreed primary care provider get a medicalFilled with brick-and-mortar doctors’ offices, owned by a Seattle technology company for $3.5 billion.

Mr Lindsay said he still believed healthcare was “ripe for rebuilding”.
