Pawar, whose party is the second largest constituent of the Shiv Sena-led MVA, is the chief architect of the governing coalition, which took over in November 2019. Congress is also a part of MVA.

A group of rebel MLAs led by Shinde were taken to Guwahati on Wednesday morning and escorted to a luxury hotel amid tight security.
