Amitabh Bachchan said that we had done many programs during this campaign. We also did a telethon which was held in the jungle. He said, “India is home to 70 per cent of the world’s tiger population. In his message on ‘Status of Tigers-2022’, Modi quoted a Sanskrit verse from ‘Udyoga Parva’ of the Mahabharata, which said, “Nirvano Vadhyate Vyaghro Nirvyaghram Chhidyate Vanam”. Tasmadvyaghro vanam raksedvanam vyaghrancha palayet ॥” It means, “If there is no forest, they are killed, if there are no tigers, the forest is destroyed.” Therefore, the tiger protects the jungle and the jungle protects the tiger.
