Anand Mahindra keeps promise to Manipur teenager who made ‘iron man’ suits

Prem from Manipur made Iron Man suit from scrap material

Earlier this year, Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra was impressed by a teenager from Manipur who had made an Iron Man suit from scrap. In a series of tweets praising his “obvious talent”, Mr Mahindra pledged to support Prem and wrote that the Mahindra Foundation would facilitate the continuing education of Prem and his siblings. Staying true to his point, the industrialist revealed in a tweet last night that Prem had reached Mahindra University in Hyderabad to study engineering.

“Remember our young Indian Iron Man love of Imphal?” Mr Mahindra asked his 8.5 million followers. “We had promised to help him pursue engineering education and I am happy to share that he has arrived @MahindraUni in Hyderabad,” he said, praising the IndiGo airline team for “taking such good care”. Special thanks. “During his journey of love.

Anand Mahindra was the first to share love story back in september. Without any formal training, Prem managed to make an Iron Man suit using scrap materials – a fact that impressed Mr. Mahindra and many others. Mr Mahindra shared a video that shows the teenager wearing the suit, which appears to be a close-up replica of the suit worn by Tony Stark in the Marvel movies.

“I am inspired and inspired by Prem’s ambition and acumen, which has flourished in spite of his circumstances—not in spite of his circumstances,” Anand Mahindra wrote a few days later, when his team managed to contact Kishor. Mr Mahindra’s team also visited his hometown of Herok a few days after Prem’s first tweet. The industrialist had said that top executives of Mahindra Group would guide the education of Kishor.

Prem’s video was first forwarded by actor Javed Jaffrey to Anand Mahindra. The industrialist’s tweet was largely credited with bringing positive attention to the teenager from Manipur. At that time, Jairam Ramesh of Congress had also gone to meet Prem and promised his full support.

This is not the first time that Anand Mahindra’s Twitter post has been instrumental in helping those in need. Two years ago, he tweeted about the now famous “Idli Amma” of Kamalathal – Tamil Nadu. You can read more about what happened Here,
