Anand Mahindra shares unique proof of India’s adoption of digital payments

Mahindra & Mahindra chairperson Anand Mahindra on Saturday shared a video to suggest mass digital adoption in the country. He shared a 30-second video in which an astrologer in a colorful costume can be seen standing by the bull, while a person is making payment using the QR code on the bull’s forehead.

Commenting on the video, Mahindra said: “Do you need any more proof of conversion to mass digital payments in India?”

This proof of digital payments reflects big trends showing that online payment methods are used not only by large business setups but also by small vendors – and their reach is not limited to cities but to rural areas as well. Is.

Digital India, one of the flagship programs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was launched in 2014. In July this year, the scheme completed six years. The Prime Minister recently interacted with the beneficiaries of ‘Digital India’ and said that India has shown both the passion for innovation and the ability to rapidly adopt those innovations.

“Digital India is the resolve of India. Digital India is the means of self-reliant India. Digital India is the expression of a strong Indian emerging in the 21st century.”

The Prime Minister also invoked his mantra of Minimum Government – Maximum Governance and explained how Digital India is empowering the common citizen by bridging the gap between government and people, system and facilities, problems and solutions.

He gave an example of how DigiLocker has helped lakhs of people especially during the pandemic. School certificates, medical documents and other important certificates were stored digitally across the country.

PM Modi said that services like driving licence, birth certificate, electricity bill payment, water bill payment, income tax return filing etc. have become fast and convenient and e Common Service Centers (CSCs) in villages are helping people. Huh. It is through Digital India, initiatives like One Nation One Ration Card that have been realized.
