Anant Chaturdashi Vrat will be observed on Thursday, September 28, and it also marks the conclusion of Ganesh Chaturthi festivities. It is believed that if the devotees fast on this day, they will gain wisdom, wealth, and prosperity. This fast is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and observed every year on the Chaturdashi tithi of Shukla Paksha in the Bhadrapada month, as per Hindu calendar.

One of the most revered astrologers from Deoghar, Pandit Nandkishor Mudgal, explained the auspicious time and the pooja rituals, for observing Anant Chaturdashi Vrat. In an interview with Local 18, he also explained what not to eat on this day during the fasting period.

According to Pandit Nandkishor, it is not advisable for devotees to eat salt while observing fast. Pandit Nandkishor said that consuming salt on Anant Chaturdashi may harm the well-being of the family.

He also explained that on this day Lord Vishnu had taken fourteen forms to protect the fourteen worlds. He also said that the infinite form (anant roop) of Lord Vishnu is worshipped on the Anant Chaturdashi. Anant is a Sanskrit term that means endless or limitless and also means infinity. On this day, the devotees tie a thread with 14 knots on his hands. Pandit Nandkishor feels that by doing this, problems in the house get resolved and this will bring prosperity and happiness to the household.

Chaturdashi Tithi will start at 08:49 pm on September 27 and will end the next day on September 28 at 06:32 pm. Ganesha Visarjan is also scheduled on this day. The auspicious time for immersing Lord Ganesha will be from 09:43 am to 3:05 pm.
