Ananya Panday: ‘I like to be kind and stay in my street’

Ananya Panday on her new film ‘Gehraiyaan’, keeping it relevant on social media, and carefully crafting her career with her film choices

From teen romance to romantic comedy to action drama. 23-year-old Ananya Pandey has shown in just three films that she will not be put in a box. his latest,depths, tackles messy relationships and the drama that comes with them (the artist calls this “domestic noir”). Directed by Shakun Batra (Kapoor and sons, One you and one me) for Amazon Prime Video, the film also stars Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi.

While we don’t see much about Pandey’s character, Tia, in the recently launched trailer, she says there is more to her role. “I wouldn’t say I’ve experienced what she goes through, but we share a lot of characteristics. The dynamic and complex relationship between the three protagonists is what attracts him to the script.
